The bottom image is clearly recognizable, taken from the steps of the
adjacent church, but the top image seems a bit harder to recognize.
The top image is the easy one: the west side of the old Court House on Notre Dame, showing Little St. James St. on the right, all of which disappeared when the current Palace of Justice was imposed on old Montreal. Strange vehicle in the foreground with a railway-observation-car rear platform. There were a few long distance buses sporting those in the 30s in a bid to convince people they offered all the amenities of train travel.

Pic #1 looks like Place Vauquelin, just west of Montreal City Hall, facing Notre Dame.
The second one is obviously Casa d'Italia with the name erased.
