The guy who lived here was familiar to pretty much everybody and died relatively young. Answer: Longtime CJAD radio broadcaster George Balcan lived here in Hampstead.
Orchestra leader Denny Vaughan. Was born in Toronto. Was orchestra leader at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. Later on The Smothers Brothers and Glenn Campbell TV shows in the 60s. Had his own show on the CBC on TV for 3 years in the 1950s. Died in 1972 at 49 years of age. That's my guess.
Vaughan did live at 5567 Queen Mary, between Finchley and Stratford Road. That house is the low-slung one just east of the Hampstead Town Hall (5569 Queen Mary Road).

I am a little confused as the 1960 Lovell's shows Denny Vaughan living at 5567 Queen Mary Road and not 5602.

I thought Balcan lived on Ellerdale, facing Ellerdale Park.
I used to see him coming and going from there often, while driving by.
He must have moved around the corner, at some point.
