Orchestra leader Denny Vaughan. Was born in Toronto. Was orchestra leader at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. Later on The Smothers Brothers and Glenn Campbell TV shows in the 60s. Had his own show on the CBC on TV for 3 years in the 1950s. Died in 1972 at 49 years of age. That's my guess.
I am a little confused as the 1960 Lovell's shows Denny Vaughan living at 5567 Queen Mary Road and not 5602.
Vaughan did live at 5567 Queen Mary, between Finchley and Stratford Road. That house is the low-slung one just east of the Hampstead Town Hall (5569 Queen Mary Road).
I don’t know; but what an enchanting looking cottage. Will be most interested to know who resided there.
Lovely cottage for lovely man, then. George Balcan once gave me, a complete stranger, a lift. I was hobbling along with one leg in plaster down de Maisonneuve.
Curses! Foiled again!
I thought Balcan lived on Ellerdale, facing Ellerdale Park.I used to see him coming and going from there often, while driving by.He must have moved around the corner, at some point.
Haroldro I agree.
Are you absolutely sure about that, Kristian? George Balcan lived for the longest time at 15 Ellerdale across from the park just aroubnd the corner from Queen Mary. I don't recall him living on Queen Mary at any time.
Nice cottage but tiny lot unless the backyard is expansive.
